Sometimes you want to hear a song by your favorite artist. Sometimes you want to hear your favorite artist sing a song. And sometimes you just want to hear your favorite artist cover a song by your other favorite artist. If you’ve found yourself in that situation lately, this list is for you.

Taylor swift - better man - live at the bluebird cafe

Though she doesn't actually start singing until 2:08, the entire video is worth the watch. Taylor returns to Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, the very place she was discovered, to sing a song she later wrote for the famous country band, Little Big Town.

Hozier - say my name - spotify sessions

An entirely unexpected pick from the folk rock singer, but sung like he wrote it himself. His voice is like silk, his control is insane, and the mix between him and his background singers is heavenly.

Post malone - I’m gonna miss her - Bbc1 live lounge

The greatest tragedy of Post Malone’s career is that people don’t realize just how talented this man truly is. Most people will pigeon hole the singer, mentally confining him to the rap/pop genre, but they’ll surely mistaken. Post Malone has an incredible amount of range and while this song may not stylistically be anything ear-catching, it proves that Post Malone is an undefinable, undeniable talent.

MAGGIE ROGERS - TIM MCGRAW - SPOTIFY SESSIONS

Maggie Rogers has found a way to improve this masterpiece of a Taylor Swift song - never knew that could be possible. She keeps the integrity of the song while simultaneously making it her own. Brilliant.

Alicia keys and john mayer - if i ain’t got you/gravity - time square (2016)

While this aren’t entirely covers because the people who originally sing the songs are partly singing said songs, it just had to be included in this list. Alicia Keys and John Mayer are both legends with an incredible knack for performing live. They are so smooth and in sync with one another. A collaboration between the two of them is simply a gift to this earth.

This is how you turn classic into cool. The Lumineer’s stripped down rendition of the Creedence Clearwater Revival tune is gritty, yet full of soul.

MILEY CYRUS - MY FUTURE - BBC1 LIVE LOUNGE

This cover came to us last year when Miley began journey to resurrect rock music. She provides the rasp and grit this song was lacking before, adding the necessary layers to make this a true hit. There is a reason Miley Cyrus is a legend, this is it.

lewis capaldi - when the party’s over - spotify sessions

Wait, so you’re telling me Lewis Capaldi isn’t the only person to ever sing this song? Well after that performances he’s the only one allowed to ever again. This song belongs to him now.

Billie eilish - bad - like a version

Billie completely strips this Micheal Jackson hit, showcasing the unbelievable vocal control she has. With short build up’s to each chorus, Billie takes her listeners for an easy ride through her take on a standard.

DAVE AND VIOLET GROHL - WHEN WE WERE YOUNG - LIVE 2020

I know what you’re thinking: oh no, not another parent who thinks their kid can sing. But this instance is a little different. Violet’s actually got pipes. Plus, who doesn’t love a daddy/daughter duo. This girls definitely gonna be something major when she grows up.
